Your life requires your mindful presence in order to live it. Be here now. ~ Akiroq Brost At this time of year many of you are ready for spring after a cold, snowy winter. It’s that time of year when there is rebirth and the signs of growth in nature. The cold winter is melting away and there is a feeling of renewal in the air. What a wonderful time for you to shed the heaviness of winter and ask yourself “What do I choose for me right now?” Are you on autopilot? For the most part, do you do the same routine every day? Instead of going through the motions of everyday life, what can you do differently. If I were to ask you if you choose life, I bet I know what your answer would be! You would say “Of course I choose life! I get up every morning and do what I do, grateful for another day.” Are you choosing life or are you on autopilot just trying to get through another day? Choosing life is a conscious awareness to be committed in the moment to living the best life you can possibly live. You are fully participating in life. You are creating your life not just moving through whatever happens that day. You can start your day with a few minutes of gratitude, prayer, journaling or meditation to choose the day you want to live. Just a few minutes taken before the “busy-ness” of the day can make such a difference. It sets the tone for the day and is a wonderful place to reflect back to as needed during the day. It is easy to just “go through the motions” of living. You live in a world that is fast paced and constantly changing. Some days there is so much happening, it can be overwhelming. Responsibilities of work, family, and your needs, can feel like a heavy burden. What if there was another way to ease that burden you might be feeling. As you go through your day, check in with yourself and see if you are present in what you are doing. Doing something while thinking about five other things is not being in the moment. If you are not living in the moment, it makes it harder to handle the distractions and challenges of life. If you find that you are thinking about the future, whether an hour from then or next year; or you are stuck in the past thinking about something that happened, ask yourself “What am I doing in this moment?” That will bring you back to the present. I have found that when you are living from every now moment, opportunities can present themselves to you and you are able to be aware of them. Often when you are not consciously in the moment, you don’t see something right in front of you that just may be wonderful! You don’t want to miss that chance of improving your life experience or doing something exciting. In the next week or two, I would challenge you to check in and see if you are living in the moment. Are you on autopilot going through the motions of living or are you consciously choosing to live a life committed to being the best possible version of you? It is time for you to fully live your life. Commit to the most important person in your life . . . YOU! What would you say if I asked you “Do you choose life?” Thank you for sharing, liking and commenting below about this blog. Feedback is always welcome. I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples. ~ Mother Teresa So much going on right now, it can be overwhelming! Some of you have been so impacted by what is happening in your life, family, country and world. You may have had moments, or even days, where you do not know what to do or which way to turn. It is evident that the world is different. What was familiar to you may not even exist anymore. Some things you did a couple of years ago now have to be done in a different way. Change is often challenging but right now that seems to be the only constant in life. With all the changes, it might feel like you are walking in quicksand. Perhaps you feel like you are stuck and there is no movement. You don't know what to do. You might believe that only big things make a difference. Small things can be the start of something “big” and wonderful! A baby takes small, wobbly steps when first learning to walk. Eventually, after many weeks and baby steps, the child is walking further and further. Soon they are able to walk in a smooth flowing way. And so it is with you! What can you do to help yourself and others? What can you do to make a difference in the world? You may be doing what you can to support people in crisis in other parts of the world. There are those of you who contribute to your community. Some of you support family members in their time of need. And, some of you who do not know what or where to start to make a difference. If it seems too much to start in a big way to help others, start with yourself. Yes, start with you! When you make positive changes within you, those beautiful changes are reflected out into the world. They affect everyone you come into contact with. Let’s look at some practical “baby” steps you can take to make a difference in your life. Move your body . . . take a walk, dance with yourself, do T’ai Chi. Drink half your body weight in ounces of water each day. Quiet your mind. Meditate or sit in silence focused on your in breath and out breath. Before you get out of bed each day, decide that you are going to make it a good day. Stop beating yourself up when you believe you have made a mistake or messed up. Stop the negative self-talk! Quiet your mind that won’t stop putting you down. Pay attention to what you are thinking and saying about yourself. Taking care of yourself is not selfish. Many of you were taught that you must put others first and not even think of doing something for yourself. Even as a parent, you have got to take care of yourself so you can be present and help your children. Give yourself permission to do for you first. Fill up your cup so then you can let it flow out to others. Love yourself enough to take care of you. You are the only person you can count on for the rest of your life. If you aren’t taking care of yourself in a way that is loving and kind, why not start now with “baby steps”. Pick even one thing you can start doing for yourself and do that for a week. See how you feel after that week. Those of you already doing things to take care of yourself, what can you do to take what you do to the next level? The more you take steps and do this on a regular basis, the sooner you will be able to walk in a place of feeling good. When you feel good about yourself, you're in a high vibrational state. This lifts up everyone around you. When you do what is best for you, it is good for everyone. Believe it or not, those baby steps you take to change yourself can make a difference in the world! Like ripples on the pond after a rock is thrown into the water, the changes you make go out from you in all directions. Baby steps can be that powerful! What are you waiting for? Take that first step. You can do this! Thank you for sharing, liking and commenting below about this blog. Feedback is always welcome. Are you ready to live the life you desire and deserve? You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream. ~ CS Lewi It’s that time of year, where it seems as though there is a long pause between what was and what is about to happen. You know, that window where we look back on the past year and we look forward with anticipation to the upcoming year. This year, what are you seeing when you look back and even more importantly, what do you envision for the upcoming year? Regardless of what you have experienced this year, it can be perceived as the most difficult year of your life or the most rewarding year of your life. It’s about your perception and beliefs. Are you a cup half full or cup half empty person? Yes, everything changed in 2020. Everyone on this planet was affected in some way this year . . . jobs lost, friends and family died, isolation, fear, separation, anxiety and so much more. How we function individually, as a country and all of humanity is forever changed and there is no going back. The bigger question as you look back is how have you changed? What does it mean for you? Are you resisting what has happened? Or, can you stay in the moment and go with what is presented and make the most of it? It’s a great time of year to reflect on you and your life. Why are you here at this time? What is your true, soul purpose for being on Earth during this time of great transition? How has this year shown up for you? What changes happened for you? What do those changes mean for you and your life? It’s all in your perception. Look at what “good” happened this year and focus on that. Perhaps there are more positive things that happened this year than you realize. First look at yourself, then your family, country and the world. What are all the ways the world changed for the better? As you focus on the positive things that happened within and around you this year, can you take all of that and carry that into the new year? Imagine the Highest and Best for yourself, all those around you and the entire world. As you visualize this, what can you do to contribute to make the world a better place? Some of you may have the belief that you can’t do anything that will make a difference in the world. You see others doing things that make a huge impact. That’s wonderful and beneficial but so are the little things that we all can do. You are capable of doing something to make a difference! You don’t have to “do” something or “be” someone great to affect change. Little things can have a profound effect! Start with yourself. What can you do every day or at least 3-4 times a week that would be a positive change for you? Get up early and write in your gratitude journal or do stretches or meditate are just a few examples. Then try doing things for others . . . your family, friends, people you work with or strangers. Say hi to someone as you pass them in the store or while you are walking. Write a note or call a person that has a lot of challenges in their life and let them know you care. As you “do” for you and those around you, it ripples out into the world. You could continue to do all these things on a regular basis. You will impact the world more than you may ever know. Of course, there are community and world projects that could always use your energy, gifts and talents. You are here at this magnificent time of transition on the Earth. You have a purpose through this time of change. It is no accident that you are here. How will you participate? Being the best version of you is doing “enough”. It’s not about doing, doing and more doing. It is in the quiet, small actions that often the most profound effect is felt. At this time between, take time to reflect on this year. Then with all your imagination, visualization and feelings, create the world you want to live in next year. So many choices and ways of making a difference. What do you choose for the new year? The key to change . . . is to let go of fear. ~ Roseanne Cash What is going on in your life in this moment? With so much going on out in the world, have you been able to stay present in your immediate world? Are you moving forward, perhaps on a different path than a year ago, but none the less moving forward with your life? If you are not moving forward, what is holding you back? What are you afraid of? Are you so afraid that you have stopped living? Don’t allow fear to stop you. What can you do that will set you free of fear? We all have gifts and talents that are so needed right now in this world. You are special and you have a unique gift that no one else possesses. You might feel that you have nothing to offer to anyone. I’m here to tell you that you have much to offer! You might feel you can’t offer anything on a grand scale that would make a difference. That’s okay. The “little” things are just as important as the big things. You being you can make a difference. Your kindness, your thoughtfulness matter. You being positive and upbeat matter. A kind word to someone who is down can make a big difference in their day. Your words may help them get out of the dark hole they are in. You may feel “stuck”. I hear some of you saying that you are waiting for “things to get back to normal”. The normal we use to know is no longer going to part of our current world. Everything has changed! There may be a new normal and yet, we are not even sure what that will be. Fear is running rampant on the Earth. Many things are not certain. Some things have come to a standstill. Because of this, many people are almost paralyzed with moving forward in their lives. Regardless of your age and situation, I would encourage you to go within and take an assessment of what you have learned and done over the course of your life. I feel certain you will find many talents that you could share with another person or group of people. Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.~ Mother Teresa Start small if necessary. Take a baby step but just start! One person loves to sew. A teacher friend asked her if she could make hand puppets to use when teaching her young students the alphabet. The teacher wanted a puppet for each letter of the alphabet. By helping the teacher, this person is now affecting the lives of all the students. What a win-win-win situation. The person loves to sew, the teacher has a creative way to teach her students and the students have a fun way to learn! Maybe you have a dream to create or do something that seems big and daunting. There is no better time than the present to get started on that dream. The world is different now and many people are creating home-based businesses. Can your dream become a reality from your very own home? In pursuing your dream, you might have to collaborate with others. There is power in numbers so why not take that chance and reach out for support with your dream. Who knows, by doing this you might just help someone else have their dream become a reality also. I have had the pleasure of helping a some of you start on a new path in your life journey during these uncertain times. During the unknown, maybe it is also time for your dream to become real. Don’t wait for the “right” time or for things “to get back to normal” . . . start now. You matter. You have a gift or gifts to share with others. Step out your way and share those gifts with others. Take that step to free yourself from the fear. You and all of us will be glad you did! Thank you for having the courage to do so. Thank you for sharing, liking and commenting below about this blog. Be brave and create the life of your dreams. Dare to strive for spectacular. ~ Amy Leigh Mercree How is your world? Not the big expansive world out there with all of humanity in it. I’m talking about the world within you and around you wherever you are in this world. What world are you creating for yourself? Are you even thinking about creating your world? Yes, you have the power to create your world. There is so much going on in the outer world right now. Some of you are experiencing profound life changes you couldn’t even imagine a year ago. Everyone is experiencing what is going on in the bigger world in their own way. Do you feel stuck? Don’t know which way to turn or what to do? In spite of what is happening in the world, if you pay attention, there are glimmers of possibilities for a new life. Please don’t allow what is happening in the world to cause you to stop “living”. What gets you excited when you think about it or you do it? What pulls at your heartstrings? Sometimes you may even have tears of joy it feels so good. When you feel this way about something, it just makes you feel alive and joyful. When was the last time you felt this way about something? Many of you may be on autopilot and don’t feel you have the time to be passionate about anything. Are you bored? Or, you are so busy you just can’t even think about the last time you did something that made you joyful. Time to change that! How are you feeling about what is going on in your life? Are you excited to get up each day or do you have to drag yourself out of bed because you are in the same old rut? In the blog You Are a Master Creator! I wrote how you can be the creator of your life. While you are creating your life, why not create a life full of passion? Take a minute and recall an experience from your life that was exciting for you. Maybe it was baking with your mother as a child. Perhaps it was a vacation that turned into quite an adventure. Do you have a hobby that use to bring you joy but you stopped doing it for whatever reason? I know that each of you reading this has at least one thing that you enjoy doing that just fills your heart with happiness. I bet some of you have a smile on your face just thinking about it! When was the last time you did this? If it was recently, I applaud you! If it was a while ago, how can you get back to it? I also can hear some of you saying there is nothing you are passionate about. Okay, is there something you really like? If given the opportunity to do anything for just the fun of it, what would that be? There is a simple exercise to help yourself. Brainstorm everything that you love to do. It can be anything! For example, you may love to work with people, exercise, be outdoors, play golf, create with your hands, be your own boss, etc. Once you have your list, then look at what jobs incorporate many of the things you love. Some of you have dreams that you have held onto for a long time and done nothing about them. Now is a great time to make them a reality. No matter how big or small, take the first step to bring them into your life. Some of you may be saying you don’t have the money or time to be passionate about anything! I challenge you to change your beliefs. Get up early or be brave and schedule an hour during the day to pursue your dreams. Money a factor? There are so many free resources available in our world today. There are also many people who are willing to spend time with you to share their talents. YouTube is a wealth of information and it costs you nothing! Take time to research what and who is available to you to help you with what you would like to do. Begin to take steps to do what makes you happy. Even if you only have limited time to do so, do what you can! When you are doing something you enjoy, life just feels so much better. Today, more than ever, when you feel good about yourself and what you are doing, it makes a huge difference for everyone! Find your joy, your passion, first for you and then let that flow out to others. Thank you for co-creating the world we would all like to live in! If you believe it will work out, you’ll see opportunities. If you believe it won’t, you’ll see obstacles. ~ Wayne Dyer So much happening. Around me, Within me, And in the world. I sense a myriad of emotions in the collective. Overwhelming fear, Unending anxiety, Deep sadness, Rising anger, Grief. What will the future hold? No one knows, Considerable uncertainty, Nothing seems as if it will be the same. I sit in isolation. Missing the physical connection with family and friends, I see their faces on the screen And hear their voices through the speaker. I miss the hugs, held tight to one another And kisses upon my cheek. An angel lands upon my shoulder. I hear a whisper in my ear, "Time to look through your eyes With a different perspective." I ask for clarity. "When you focus on the negative, You will see negative, Feel bad, Not be able to move forward And do what you came here to do. Look for the good. In others, Within you, In everything that is happening." I take a deep breath. Adjust my focus, Change my perspective, See the goodness in humanity, Notice the kind words And selfless actions. I see the good being done by many. I begin to feel better, I want to help others, My inner light begins to shine. I realize I am not alone in isolation. I can reach out and connect with others, In their time of need Or as they are in service. I, too, am part of the community As we all go through this experience together. All we have is the present moment. Of this I can be certain, Staying in the here and now, Creating my future. I sense new feelings within me. Strength from deep within, Hope abounds, Compassion, for me and for everyone, Peace and calmness, And, most of all . . . love. So much happening. Around me, Within me, And in the world. Grateful! It is only in our darkest hours that we may discover the true strength of the brilliant light within ourselves that can never, ever, be dimmed. ~ Doe Zantamat As I sit here doing my best to find the words to convey what a lot of us are experiencing and feeling, I just can’t seem to find the right words. It’s so much more than the virus that is affecting us. So many things happening individually and as a collective. Each one of you is having your own unique experience in these unsettling times. Some of you have lost your job and are uncertain when and if you will be able to return to work. Some of you are working from home, adapting to a new way of being “in” the workplace. Many, if not most of you, are home because your state has issued a “stay at home” order or something similar. This can be a very scary time. There is so much fear on the Earth right now . . . not just where you live but around the world! This is hard on everyone. You can sense it in the collective. We are living through a huge wakeup call for all of humanity. I hear some of you say “I can’t wait till this all blows over and we can get back to normal." What is normal? I have said for many years that everything is changing. Here we are. Welcome to change! I believe all of this will cause us to have a “new” normal. Most of you have had your day-to-day life and schedule completely turned upside down. Many of you have more time at home. Depending upon your perspective, this time at home can be a challenge or a gift. With this extra time at home, what are you doing on a daily basis? Are you glued to the TV hanging on every word that is said and that causes more fear within you? Do you find yourself in your mind thinking and rethinking about what the future will bring? Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it or work around it. ~ Michael Jordan With a large number of you at home with family, there are different and perhaps more demands put on parents than when your children were attending school. As much as you love your children, you can’t lose yourself in taking care of them. You can’t forget about you and what you need. Now more than ever, it is so important to take care of yourself. Those of you who follow my blog, know I have written many times about making YOU your #1 priority. Self-care is so important! If you don’t take care of you, you won’t be able to take care of anyone else. Many of you are doing a good job coping and even exceling during this time. You are decluttering and repairing your home. Depending what part of the country you live in, you may be working in your yard and clearing it for new growth this spring. You are finding new ways to exercise at home. Perhaps you have found a new way to video chat with friends and family in other parts of the world as a new way of keeping in touch. Some of you are bringing forth creative talents you’ve always had but may have been hidden. You are writing that book you never had time to write. I’ve seen many beautiful paintings and craft projects displayed online. You may be finding that inner chef and baker that you didn’t realize you were all these years! These creative projects add so much to uplift all of us. Tough times never last, but tough people do. ~ Robert H Schulle During this time of slowdown and isolation, give yourself the gift of taking care of all of you . . . physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Find time to go within and look at what truly matters to you. Deep within you is your true essence, who you really are. It’s time for your hidden gifts and talents to come forth. You can also take care of you by staying in the present moment. When you find yourself scared of getting sick or wondering what the future will bring, bring yourself back to the NOW moment. In that moment, find something to be grateful for. When you are in a place of gratitude, it changes everything. One moment of gratitude can lead to another moment and another. Soon you will find that you have much to be grateful for. In that moment, you are alive and can trust that we are all going to be okay . . . no matter what that looks like and no matter the outcome. If at times you find all of this to be more than you can bare, remember that you are not the only one experiencing this. You are not alone. We are all going through this. And, together, we will come out the other side of this unprecedented time on Earth! Thank you for sharing, liking and commenting below about this blog. There is one art of which people should be masters – the art of reflection. ~Samuel Coleridge It’s that time between Christmas and New Year’s where things slow down at the end of the year before the start of a new year. That feeling that you need to take a deep, long exhale after all that goes into the holiday planning and “doing”. You can finally catch your breath. It’s also the time of year when you tend to pause and reflect on the year that is almost completed. You look at where you have been, what you did, what you feel good about and maybe the things you don’t feel so good about. Some of you will also look at the upcoming year with great anticipation with what you want to accomplish in the new year. You may feel that it is more challenging to “exhale” at the end of this year than other years. 2019 was a challenging year. It turned us inside out while pushing and pulling us beyond our comfort zones. Collectively, out in the mass consciousness, there was so much going on while individually you felt changes in your own personal world. Regardless if you flowed with the changes or resisted them, you changed. When you take time to reflect on 2019, notice all the ways you changed from where you were a year ago. As many of you have observed, there is great change happening in governments, financial institutions, healthcare and other institutions in many countries. Around the world, no matter where you are, there is change in the air. It can be scary to watch these changes or be a part of them, and yet change can also be good. Changes have also happened in your own personal world this year. Jobs changing, moving to a new home, relationships ending, physical illness, or people dying and leaving you. As you reflect on the past year, you may know or feel differently about you . . . your beliefs, how you nurture yourself, your self-talk and how you love yourself. As changes happen in your external world, you can be sure there are internal changes happening at the same time or vice versa. If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living. ~ Gail Sheehy No matter what, it is my belief that there can be something good and wonderful in whatever is happening. It may not always be obvious that good can come from a dear person dying or losing a job that provides food for your children. It can be devastating! Yet, in that moment, can you look for all the possible good that may occur from what just happened? I know from personal experience what this can feel like. I have gone through some things that could have been overwhelming and destroyed my spirit. Many people would ask me “How are you able to function and be so positive with all that you are going through?” Without fail, I would look for the positive even in some of the most horrible situations. Not always easy to do, but that is how I got through difficult situations in my life. By focusing on the good, it made the bad not seem so bad. See if this helps you the next time you are faced with an upsetting situation. Take time to breathe. Get into your heart center and look for something, anything, no matter how small that is a “good” part of what just happened. Believe that something wonderful will happen from whatever you are experiencing. Focus on the beautiful possibilities that now have an opening to come to you because of what just happened. Maybe a friend heard about you losing your job and that very day, his boss made an announcement the company needs to hire more help. You apply and you get the job which is better than the job you lost. There is just no getting around that turning bad things into good things is up to you. ~Deepak Chopra 2020 can be a turning point year for you if you allow it to be. Not only is January the start of a new year, it is the start of a new decade! Yes, there is much out there in the world that doesn’t look so good. It’s all in your perception. What will you “see” when you reflect on 2019? In that reflection, can you then come up with a vision for what you want for you, your family, the world in 2020? Who do you want to be with all these changes that are happening? You each make a difference! Thank you for taking a long slow exhale at this time and reflecting on what you can do to make a difference in the world. This in turn helps everyone else. I am grateful for each one of you and what you are doing to make the world a better place. Blessings for a new year and new decade that is beyond anything you could imagine! Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give. ~ Ben Carson So often at this time of the year, your thoughts go to what gift will you give a friend or family member for the holiday. Or, maybe you have a “wish list” of what you would like to receive. Commercials and ads begin to run in October for the holiday buying season and it seems as though the holiday season is getting earlier and earlier in the year. What if this season you took time to give the greatest gift of all . . . the gift of you? No matter what your spending budget may be, the gift of you cost nothing but your time and effort. You have many gifts to offer others and these types of gifts are priceless! You may even want to reconsider your wish list. Rather than a material gift, there may be something that you want to do that would be easier with the help of another person. Many will feel honored that you considered them to help you with something. They are helping you and it is uplifting for them. That’s a gift that goes both ways! The act of giving to someone is just as important for the person giving the gift as the person receiving the gift. You may have a hard time accepting gifts, payments or acts of kindness from others. Many people do. When you don’t accept what someone wants to give you, then you are denying them the joy of giving to you. Accept the gift and allow them to experience the joy of giving! I believe that most people truly prefer the gift of you over anything material. If you are having a hard time thinking of what “gifts of you” that you could give to someone, let’s look at some possibilities.

Just like the seasons, people have the ability to change. ~ Laurie Buchanan It’s that time of year! The days are shorter and the feeling of fall is in the air. The fall harvest, and especially picking apples, remind me of my grandmother’s famous apple pie. Such fond memories! For some of you, where you live the leaves are changing colors. The trees will soon be shedding their leaves in preparation for the winter. This is a natural process for the trees to be ready in the spring for new growth. Fall brings a feeling of great change for many of you. Something about the rhythm of nature affects your biological and inner core rhythms. It gives you a time to “pause” and transition from the summer to winter. This natural rhythm of the seasons reminds you of what you can do to prepare yourself for change. What can you shed to get ready for the next season in your life? Are there old tapes, beliefs or ways of being that no longer serve you? Like the trees, you may have some “leaves” that are ready to be shed. The trees shed leaves so that in the spring, a “rebirth” can happen where the old leaves use to be. What old beliefs or ways are you holding onto that are stopping your new growth? Perhaps this season of change will help you look at what needs to be shed in your life so you can move forward into “new growth”. If you are here on this Earth at this time, you are changing! Most of you can feel the changes in the world and within you. At times, it feels difficult to work through the changes. Other times, the changes just flow. Whatever is happening with you and in your world, you can be the creator of what “new” you would like in your life. Yes, you are capable and responsible for creating the life you want to live! Take a step for you, any step, even a baby step, to shed the old and then grow the new. When the winds of change blow, remember . . . sometimes what appears dead is simply preparing for a new season. ~ Jane Lee Logan Let’s look at some ways to get you started with this process. Take any area of your life – family, work, relationships, health, self-love or any aspect of your life where you want to make changes. Find about 30 minutes to do “brainstorming” about that area of your life. Several “rules” with brainstorming. You are making a list of any and everything pertaining to that subject with no thinking or judgement. After 30 minutes, look at your list and see what “jumps out at you” or feels right for you to pursue as a possibility. Here is an example of a brainstorming exercise one person did about her career. She wanted to make a change but didn’t know what to do because of her fear that she couldn’t give up a good paying job to do what she really loved! Her current position was sitting at a computer all day as a customer service rep for a large corporation. She listed all the things she would like in a career. Two things popped out when she looked at her list. She loved animals and being outdoors. She found a way to start a part-time pet sitting business on the weekends. She loved caring for and walking dogs. Soon she expanded her pet services and was busy during the week before and after her full-time job. Because she loved animals and enjoyed what she was doing, people loved her and the service she provided. Business picked up. It took time, but eventually she was able to expand her business to include part-time employees to help her. Needless to say, she is now enjoying what she does and is not sitting behind a computer all day! Gratitude for the turning of the seasons. May we attune our hearts to their enduring message of renewal. ~ Kristin Granger You can make big or small changes in any area of your life. Change is happening regardless of what you do or don’t do. Wouldn’t you like to be a part of the process of change and create what you would like in your life? As you go into fall, look for what you can shed to make room for the new. Maybe you will come up with a new recipe that becomes famous or create something else that everyone will want to have. You have gifts and talents that no one else in this world has! Believe in yourself and know that anything is possible for you! Thank you for liking, sharing and commenting below about this blog. Feedback is always welcome. All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. ~ Walt Disney What if you had a dream that you could make real? How would you feel? What would you do? Inside you is something special and unique. You have talents and abilities that no one else has. The time is right, the time is now, for you to bring those gifts out into the world! I can hear you saying to yourself “I don’t have or do anything special. I don’t know what she is talking about!” I would have to disagree with you. Everyone on this planet is different. Even identical twins are not exactly the same! Because you are special in your own way, you have strengths, qualities and skills that no one else has! You have your own “one of a kind” gifts. What if you had all the resources in the world available to you for free or at a reasonable price? How would you feel? What would you do? It really is true that there is an unlimited amount of resources out there for you to have and use. It is a matter of being willing to look for them and being open to find them in some of the most unlikely places! It’s not always about having money to buy what you need. Often someone has something you need to make your dream come true. I have a philosophy of asking for something knowing that the worse the person can tell me is “no”. It never fails me when I ask; I often get a “yes” more times than I get a “no”. Perhaps you have something that you can trade with the person to get what you need. It is becoming more and more popular to share with others and they in turn share with you. Why pay for something you will use perhaps once when someone else has what you need and is very willing to share it with you. Get out of the box! There is more to the world than what you know and see. The resources are there . . . look beyond the box! What if everything fell into place for you? How would you feel? What would you do? Share your dream with people you trust and who are supportive of you. When you start to take steps, even baby steps, to make your dream real, a sure sign you are on the right path is when things start to fall into place. If you are making any progress, trust that things will work out. Sometimes things don’t move as quickly as you would like. Things just may not be lined up for the Highest and Best possible outcome in that moment. It doesn’t mean things won’t work out. If you continue on and can see some progress, don’t give up. Let go and surrender. Allow for things to fall into place for you. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt What if you were unstoppable? How would you feel? What would you do? If you knew you would be successful in making your dream a reality, what is stopping you? In trying, you have already succeeded! The only time you truly fail is when you don’t even try. Not everything will turn out the way you anticipated. That is okay. When something doesn’t turn out exactly the way you expected; often it turns out to be a “good” thing. The only thing stopping you from making your dreams true is you! Step out of your way. Step onto the path of believing in yourself. You can make your dreams come true! How does that feel? What will you do? Special note: It was last year on July 31 that I posted my first blog. Over the course of the past year, I have heard from many of you that “these blogs felt like they were written just for you." Thank you for your feedback and encouragement! When something really matters, you should never give up or give in. ~ Gordon Brown Have you ever really thought or felt about what matters to you? Are you passionate about something? Is there something in your life that brings you joy? In the busy-ness of life, it is easy to lose touch with what really matters. If it was just you and you had no responsibilities, what would you do? What is important to you? What really matters? Some of you would say that your health and wellness matters the most. Someone might say the adventure and magic of traveling, visiting new places feeds their soul. You might say that your awakening, your realization that you are more than what you see in the mirror, is a path that really matters to you. If you have never really contemplated what matters to you, take some time to just “sit or be” with what your heart is telling you. Regardless of your age or what is happening in your life, get in touch with that inner knowing. Go within and ask yourself “What really matters to me at this time on my life journey?” Once you have established one or several things that would make “your heart sing” even at the thought of doing them, then it is time to come up with a plan to incorporate them into your daily life. Those of you who feel you are in a rut, don’t feel joy or feel hopeless with your day-to-day existence, then this is especially important for you. I know you are busy, but could you find a way to commit even 30 minutes a day to you? You might be thinking “There is no way I have even 15 minutes in my day to do something for me!” I would challenge you to make YOU your #1 priority and find time to nurture you, your soul. Could you wake up 30 minutes earlier or take 30 minutes before you go to bed for yourself? What about taking a break during the day? Or how about when you transition from work to home, you take some time for yourself. One mom told me that when she took time for herself, she was a better mother, wife and person. Because of the demands of being a working mom with a busy family, she woke up 30 minutes earlier before anyone else was awake. This was her special quiet time every day that was just for her. A professional single mother told me she would take time on her lunch hour for herself. She knew her child was being cared for at daycare. And, she was able to leave the demands of work behind during that time. Sometimes she would workout, or sit outside and read the latest book that had her attention or attend a lunch focus group about a local issue she was passionate about. She was able to focus on just herself and what mattered to her. What was interesting, she felt her performance was better at work on the days she did this. She also felt this helped her be a better mother. I love the analogy of when you are flying on a plane and there is an emergency. If you are flying with someone that would need your assistance to put on their oxygen mask, you are told to put your oxygen mask on first. If you pass out from lack of oxygen, you are not going be able to help anyone! You have to take care of you by putting on your oxygen mask before you can help others. Take time to do what matters to you, what you care about. What a wonderful way to love and take care of yourself. When you take care of you, it is a gift you give yourself and everyone around you. It is not being selfish!!! As you take time to do what you are passionate about and what brings you joy, you can then allow that to flow to others. Do what really matters to you. What a gift! Follow your dreams, believe in yourself and don’t give up. ~ Rachel Corri Dreams really can and do come true! I am sure at some time in your life you have had a vision in your mind of something exciting you would love to do or become. That is a powerful way to start any creation! Many life changing events and inventions have come from a dream or desire. What dream have you had that you haven’t taken the first step to bring it into solid form? What would you do if you knew your dream could come true? Within each one of you is a creative person waiting to step forward. Yes, you! No matter what you have been told or what you believe about yourself, you have creative energies within you! A dream is a thought form that is energy. Once you do anything to take that energy from thought to action, you are creating. You may not have all the resources initially to make that dream come true, but you can still put some action behind the dream to get the ball rolling! As you stay focused in the present moment with your dream, doing what you can do, watch how resources start to line up to support your dream. Someone has the materials you need to get started at a reasonable price. Or someone happens to know someone who has the expertise to help you take your dream from a thought to reality. You don’t have to have all the answers or resources to get started. What would you do if you knew you would not fail? ~ Robert H Schulle Take a minute or two and think about something you were really excited about that you wanted to do or create. Some of you have had dreams and visions about your life since you were a young child. You might have a dream that you just can’t let go of. Focus on the excitement of your idea. What has held you back from moving forward with that dream? Many of you have a fear of failure. Or, you believe you are not good enough or smart enough to make your dream come true. Some of the greatest successes have come from some of the biggest “failures”. In learning what not to do, you are one step closer to making your dream a reality. In trying, you have succeeded!! ![]() Other ways that you can block your dream is to believe everything has to be perfect before fulfilling your dream. You may believe you have to have the complete package tied with a bow before you can launch your creation. We live in an imperfect world so why put pressure on yourself that you have to have a “perfect package” before releasing your dream out into the world! Sometimes in creating your dream and putting it out there, you find it takes on a life of its own. Often this is way better than anything you could imagine! Instead of getting caught up with the belief that everything has to go a certain way, surrender to the process. Trust that all is unfolding according to your Divine life path. Don’t let others tell you that something is not possible. You can do or become anything you choose to do or become! Some of the most successful people have had very little advanced training. Some examples are that they have become well known speakers, singers, mentors, teachers and entrepreneurs. Years ago, people thought the light bulb, telephone, television and even cars were crazy ideas! Don’t let other people’s beliefs hold you back from the joy of making your dream a reality. Believe in yourself and know that anything is possible! Sweet dreams! Thank you for sharing, liking and commenting below about this blog. Feedback is always welcome. Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson It’s the beginning of another year and some of you are coming up with resolutions or goals for the new year. Resolutions are made for the upcoming year and often by the end of January, they are forgotten or abandoned because “they are so much work to keep doing". This is usually done with great intentions but often makes you feel badly when you don’t complete them. What if this year, you set goals and intentions in a slightly different way? Instead of coming up with a list of goals that you think you “should” work on, what if you came up with a list that comes from your heart and feels good? Instead of thinking and rethinking what to do, get into your heart and see what feels right to do. I know you can come up with goals and resolutions that you would enjoy completing. Some of the most popular New Year’s resolutions have to do with losing weight, being healthy, work or relationships. Often resolutions are made with a specific, detailed result. That is the old way of making resolutions. Want to try the new way of setting goals that is more empowering? What if instead your resolution is to be happy? Or healthy? Or working in your passion? Rather than a specific goal of getting healthy by losing 25 pounds while going on ABC diet and working out 5 days a week, you have a goal or goals that are broader. Your resolutions now allow you more freedom to create happiness or health or your passion, in every moment, whatever that means for you. One day being healthy will mean that you are taking steps to eating better or exercising more. You may realize that you are not getting enough quality sleep and you start going to bed earlier. It is brought to your awareness that emotions affect your physical health. You decide to go within to look at what emotions you are carrying that may be causing your body to be less than healthy. When you set goals that are specific and you aren’t able to be consistent all the time, you get frustrated or upset with yourself. In this new way of setting goals or intentions, you have more “wiggle room”. When you set a goal of ABC and you feel that is what needs to be done, you are limiting yourself. What if something D through Z is more beneficial for you? In the new way, you are allowing for more helpful possibilities to come to you. You may believe you know what is best for you but sometimes you don’t always know what is best! Allow space for the unexpected, beneficial event or person to come into your life. Make a commitment to yourself that this year you are going to be more open, less rigid and controlling, to allow unknown and unplanned gifts to come to you. ![]() The first of the year always brings hopes and wishes of new beginnings or beneficial changes in your life. This year, imagine each day to be the beginning of something new and wonderful in your life. Stay in the moment and be aware of all that is unfolding in that moment. It’s a new year and every day is a new day . . . what will your intentions be for each new day? Wishing you a year filled with days that are better than you can imagine!
